Vogue

Vogue
I had a very lengthy session with this Kingfisher, which is quite unusual for these anti-social Fisher-Kings!
He is sharp on his toes though, as I saw a Cooper's Hawk torpedo after him and he managed to maneuver his way away from death.

He preened...

    Try as I might I have never had a kingfisher allow me to get within good photographic range. No only were you able to get a close up shot but you capture an incredible series!!!

  7. Simply stunning, I am giving you a standing ovation right now. I will not call for an oncore because this would be hard to top. They are just fantastic, always one of my favorite birds but never allowing me to get get close shots. You not only got those but you nailed them with him performing like wildlife should.

  12. What fantastic photos--she's lovely. (Unlike most birds, belted kingfisher females are more colorful than the males. The boys don't have the rusty splotches.)
