A first for me, I baited this guy to come to my position as I sat with a tripod, ready for triggering. I met him a few days ago while kayaking. He was attracted to the blue vessel, and buzzed me several times. I didn't have my camera with me, so I figured I'd round up a few flowers from the yard next time, attach them to the reeds along the shore, grab a chair and wait. I didn't have to wait long, as he sipped nectar about a minute after I was set up.
cracking photos
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots! Such a pretty Moth.
ReplyDeleteSuper shots.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the hummingbird moths! I have them in my yard pretty regularly. But my point-and-shoot digital can't quite freeze them - nice photos
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Hannibal. A beautiful moth. Thank you for the tip of how you got these shots. I'll have to try that with some of our insects once spring rolls round.
ReplyDeleteTerrific, and sharp! How did you get this one to pose so well? (smile) That must have taken some special bribary and lots of patience. ATB!
