One of the best wildlife moments of my life, this Great Grey Owl put on quite a show for me. It was obvious this wild owl was used to people as it approached quite close many times. The rumor mill was buzzing with sightings of this owl and the unethical behavior displayed by certain photographers baiting. This owl was looking for an easy meal while I was there, although no one baited him on this day. Right or wrong, perfect weather conditions and a big help from this lifer owl made this a spectacular day! Enjoy!
Wow! Am I ever jealous! Great photos.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful bird! You really caught the details. Love seeing it in the snow.
ReplyDeleteOMG!! You must have been soooo excited to see this beautiful creature! Your photos of him are just outstanding.
ReplyDeleteNice job capturing this beauty-they are beautiful. I feel fortunate I got to see 7 different ones this year
ReplyDeleteI got to see them in NY from time to time. The first on was right outside my window! The second one stayed in our north country from Jan through May! He was on our May count that year. One of our birder friends who lived near where the bird was wintering became his "keeper" of sorts watching him regularly and at one Tim the bird landed right on his hat for a good place to hunt!!! Your photos are stunning Hannibal!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic encounter and what a beautiful set of pictures for a lifer! Never happened to me to get nice shots of a lifer ;-) Well ok, except in Panama!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent, magical and completely marvelous. Thank you for this super photography of such a lovely creature I was indeed totally mesmerized. My photography lately has been limited to the farm and creatures of the domestic type ...your post was quite the treat.
