Macro Monarch

Birding has been quite slow, so insects have been the focus lately. The milkweed blooms are still producing plenty of food for butterflies. This time of the year is great for Monarchs, which are starting to hatch from their cocoons.

  4. How beautiful! Would you believe me if I told you that I have never seen a monarch before? I've seen yellow butterflies that look very similar, but never an orange one. Such a pretty picture. I love the bokeh in this photo, how the blue and green seem to blend into each other.
